TailsMK4's Gamer Blog Post New Entry

Any updates/ideas/interests/etc will be talked about here. No, I will not reveal anything about my personal life, so don't ask. This will be strictly related to gaming I'm doing off the computer or on the computer, including LP ideas or hacks/fan-games that I'm tracking.

Posting as a Guest:

I'm not requiring anyone to register to post in the blog, but if you could use your Youtube name or email name, then I would know who you are. Also, for the numbers you have to type, make a space before putting in the second set of numbers. Email is required, unfortunately, so if you don't want your email address displayed publicly, send me an email instead. My email is [email protected].

(I've enabled these blogs to where guests should be able to respond to these entries, since I'm not going to force people to sign up to comment. I'm not exactly sure how it works, though)

So, I already mentioned that I will be doing more of Magikoopa Security Force, which recently updated to include World 3 and quite a lot of core gameplay changes. I'll explain more about these changes in the video, but I will just say that the replay value of the game increased quite a bit, and now in the levels you have to be careful about minion management.

I also still play a lot of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch, although at this time most of my work is behind the scenes. This recently got updated to V4, featuring additions to the Single Player campaign (and I have to say that there's plenty of surprises in store, but I will say that this is starting to branch into a different kind of storyline that sets it apart from the main games). Since I'm more of a fan of team modes, though...my activity is kind of absent from online. I am developing something as part of a team for the mod, though.

A game that I really played a lot during the time I was recovering from hernia surgery was Mega Man RPG Prototype, and I still play it every now and then. It's a very simple game played directly on the browser (the site has problems with Internet Explorer, so I'd recommend using Firefox instead). It's a mix of the Mega Man core values with the variety of strengths and weaknesses of elements and battle mechanics from Pokémon. Currently you can play as the Robot Masters from MM1, MM2, and MM4 (though I heard MM3 is coming soon), as well as Mega Man, Bass, Proto Man, Roll, and two new support robots made for this game, Disco (for Wily), and Rhythm (for Cossack). You can play demo missions to try the game out, but you'll need to make an account to do the full game.

I'm always on the look out for more games, so if you got any possible fan games for me to look at, let me know. And no, I won't play any games like IWBTG or anything similar to it.

A Long Overdue Status Update...

Geez, it's been almost three years since I last edited this website, apparently. Quite a bit has happened since then, from needing surgery for a hernia to my laptop computer's hard drive failing. Because of the latter, though, I no longer have any videos that I made within the past few years. I'm not too worried, though, as most of that work is pretty old, but still entertaining.

As far as the website, I removed the old Member's area since I don't really need to have that. I have added an About Me section where you guys can learn a little more about me and a Projects section where I'll be listing projects that I have finished, are working on, and perhaps some future projects that I may consider. Hopefully this website will be a thing again and I'll post my updates here instead of creating more update videos and just stick to the actual gaming videos for my channel.

My video activity for the time being will continue to be sporadic, since I have few opportunities to do audio commentary. I like to speak pretty loud when I talk, so it kind of disrupts the other people in the house, so I like to wait until I'm by myself before I do any audio commentaries. I do like to say that I may be past my "video block", though, as I have a few ideas for possible future projects, and I'm open to ideas as well.

I do not subscribe to anyone, but I do watch quite a lot of videos on Youtube. Recently I started getting back to watching videos from a user called RoahmMythril. I know I have quite a few viewers that appreciate the fact that I do not curse at all and usually do not sound angry when I talk. Roahm is kind of the same as me (there are a few more similarities, but this is probably the most significant). There was a time he used a word that I personally wouldn't use, but that is probably the one time I encountered the word out of all of the videos I watched, and it was over something that he knew he would have a hard time with, so it was a bit much for him to contain. This guy is great, so if you haven't seen any of his videos, do check him out.

Otherwise, the other thing I was going to mention is covered in the Projects section anyway, so go check that out, and remember that I accept emails, but just be sure to mention either in the title or like the first few words of your first sentence so I know who you are. If I get an email from someone and I'm not sure what it is about, I usually will just ignore it. There used to be an Inbox feature at Youtube, but since Google+ has taken over, I don't get any notices about new messages, so it's probably better to email me. This also applies for my Skype account. I'll add you as long as I know it's not just some random person who encountered my Skype name. That's about it, I guess. Be sure to let others know about this website, as the more people know about this website, the more useful I can make this be for you guys. This is MetalKirby, signing out. (the name I use now would sound weird to say, so I'll stick with this one.)

Inactivity again...

Lately I've been bored being online since there really isn't much to do anymore...kind of ironic, isn't it? I've also been losing interest in emulation in general except for hacks. Anyway, two reasons for no videos thus far:

1. Still can't decide what to begin first (I think I'm now down to two choices, so I might begin recording before the end of the month).

2. Lazy about finding an ideal audio setup...I might just stick to what I was doing before (I actually don't like to have to speak loud, but my mic will not pick up my voice otherwise).

Then again, I guess this has been normal recently where I have these long inactive periods. My view and subscriber count still continues to go up, so it's not like I'm going to stop video recording for good.

In the meantime, you can help me on an issue that is part of the reason for my inactivity: length of the new videos. I've had different responses, but I need people to vote again one more time. Most said 20 minutes, but I also had a few people that said to do 10 minutes instead. The sooner this gets resolved, the sooner I'll resume video making.

This is why I cannot promise anything...

Sure enough, plans have changed, due to family matters (nothing serious, at least). Since my Mom will be staying home throughout the days, I am unable to do audio commentary (I have to speak pretty loud for the microphone to register). As such, I have to change the range of when you guys can expect videos from me from this week to soon. I could do text commentary as well, but it's not really the same effect as audio commentary.

Videos will be out soon, but I will not specify any dates because the fact that "plans can change" can happen to anyone, myself included.

Meantime, I've been playing some Legend of Zelda quests via a program called Zelda Classic. For those that are fans of the original NES game (I'm sure that's a good majority), you'll like this program, as it takes the original game and extends it. It's NOT a hack, even though it might look like one. It's what I thought it was as well at first, but it's an actual fan project, and a great one at that. A new version is said to be coming out pretty soon, so it's something I'll be keeping track of. As for videos of these quests...it's a maybe. Once I can figure out how to change the video mode settings, then it's likely a go.
